We are a small family, comprising 3 people and 6 cats, 5 of them Russian Blue. We live north of Copenhagen in a house with a huge garden which is 100% safe for cats. Our cats are members of the family and have free access to the entire house and garden, which they enjoy to the full. We bought our first Russian Blue in 2001 and have since been in love with both the Russian Blue beauty and fantastic temper. We have only one litter per year, because it is very important to us, that the kittens get a lot of time and attention as well as ensuring that the adult cats do not feel neglected. I love to attend cat shows, while my husband and my son prefer to enjoy the cats at home. Although I am practically a novice in the Russian Blue world, I have my way of thinking how a Russian Blue should look like. I do not focus on a certain type but do like an elegant, long-legged, well-muscled cat with light to medium blue coat- really blue, so that the silver sheen is very visible. The ears must be large and open at the base and be placed neither too high nor too low on the head. The profile must have a well-defined convex angle and the nose must be totally straight. What I love most and is my favourite feature, is the spectacular green Russian eyes, which I think is one of the most important characteristics of the Russian Blue cat.
